Westminster House has been a viable resource and beacon of hope in the community for over 40 years. Our addiction recovery programs provide a full continuum of care to women and youth girls impacted by addiction. We address nicotine, alcohol, prescription medication, substance misuse, trauma and pain management, and associated mental health issues.
WHS has seen very steady growth and expansion in more recent years due to the current circumstances of our region. Our programs have been responding to the needs of our communities at the dangerous intersection of an opioid overdose crisis, mental health crisis, COVID-19 pandemic, and housing crisis.
Our most recent project has been the expansion of our aftercare program. We have been developing a program for clients further along in the continuum of care that includes solution-focused recovery housing and other supports such as a meal program, utilities, toiletries, and linens. Providing aftercare is essential to giving our clients the best odds for achieving long-term recovery. We need the support of our community to help women complete this full continuum of care and successfully re-integrate back into society as healthy, happy and productive members.
